Powered by the TIC-80 fantasy console, EtherTIC enables the easy publication and play of game cartridges that are stored as ERC-1155 NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain.

In addition to the standard NFT-related operations this permits (such as trading on platforms like opensea.io), a more authentic fantasy console development experience is enabled due to the immutable nature of the blockchain. This immutability forces developers to only publish their games once due to no potential existing for further patches or updates, enforcing a significant challenge game that developers faced in the past.

NFTs (Non-fungible tokens) are unique and permanent tokens of ownership that exist on blockchains such as Ethereum. Similar to most other NFTs, EtherTIC game cartridges are manufactured with permanent attributes (game data, image, name, etc) and a limited supply chosen by the developer.

For example, because 4,000 copies of the demo cartridge were manufactured upon its publication, there can never be more than 4,000 copies or owners of the original cartridge. Additionally, it can never be updated or altered, just as if it were a game cartridge in the real world.
